Weekly Priority Setting

A 20-minute Friday or Sunday ritual that names the three outcomes that must happen next week and protects time for them.

Executive & Founder 6 steps
When to use

End of each week, for any leader who owns their own calendar.

Trigger
Runs when: End of week, 20 minutes

The procedure

6 steps

  1. Review the past week against the three outcomes you set for it.
  2. Name the three outcomes that must happen next week, tied to rocks or the one big goal.
  3. Block calendar time for each outcome before any meetings get scheduled over it.
  4. Identify the one thing you will say no to or delegate to protect those blocks.
  5. Flag any meeting that does not serve an outcome and consider declining it.
  6. Write the three outcomes where you will see them daily.
Outputs
  • Three named outcomes for the week
  • Calendar blocks protecting them
  • One explicit no or delegation

Note: Protecting the block is the whole point. An outcome with no defended time on the calendar is a hope, not a priority.
