Trigger
Runs when: Weekly, before the leadership meeting

The procedure

6 steps

  1. Pull the operational scorecard: throughput, on-time rate, backlog, and quality or defect rate.
  2. Compare each metric to its target and to last week and the four-week average.
  3. For any metric off target two weeks running, write the proximate cause in one sentence.
  4. Convert each persistent miss into an issue with an owner and a due date.
  5. Flag any leading indicator trending toward a future miss before it lands.
  6. Summarize the three numbers that most need leadership attention this week.

  • A three-number summary for leadership
