# Gemba Walk Template

Purpose: Go and see the work where it happens, ask respectful questions, observe against the standard, and capture improvement opportunities firsthand.

- Duration: 45 minutes (30 to 60 minutes typical)
- Cadence: Weekly
- Participants: Leader plus the team doing the work (2-6 people)

## Agenda

- [ ] Set the purpose and theme of the walk (5 min)
- [ ] Go and see the work run (15 min)
- [ ] Ask respectful, open questions (10 min)
- [ ] Observe against the standard (10 min)
- [ ] Capture opportunities and thank the team (5 min)

## Facilitator tips

- Go to see and learn, not to inspect or blame.
- Ask questions rather than hand down answers.
- Follow the flow of the work, not the org chart.
- Respect the people; they know the process best.
