# Design Critique Template

Purpose: Run a structured design critique that improves work in progress against its goal without bruising the designer.

Duration: 60 minutes
Cadence: Weekly
Participants: A facilitator, the presenting designer, and 3-8 reviewers

## Agenda
- [ ] Frame the critique (5 min) - rules, critique the work not the person
- [ ] Designer sets context (10 min) - problem, audience, constraints, feedback wanted
- [ ] Silent review (5 min) - individual notes before anyone speaks
- [ ] Structured feedback rounds (25 min) - anchor to the goal, strengths then questions
- [ ] Designer responds (10 min) - reflect back, clarify, choose threads
- [ ] Capture and assign (5 min) - action items, owners, open questions

## Tips
- Make the designer state the feedback they want.
- Anchor every comment to the goal, not taste.
- Use silent review so opinions stay independent.
- Phrase concerns as questions.
- Protect the designer from a pile-on.
