# Monthly SEO and AI-Search Health Check

> A monthly check that catches ranking drops and AI-search citation decay across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews.

**When to use:** First Tuesday of the month for anyone responsible for organic discovery.

**Trigger:** First Tuesday of the month, 90 minutes

## Steps

1. Pull rankings for your top 25 target queries from Search Console.
2. Flag any query with a 5-position-or-worse drop in the past 30 days.
3. For each drop, open the page, the search result, and the latest click data, then diagnose: stale content, competitor improvement, intent shift, or a technical issue.
4. Check AI-search visibility for the same 25 queries: are you cited, mentioned, or quoted by the major assistants.
5. Flag any query where you used to be cited and are not anymore. AI visibility decays faster than rankings.
6. Queue specific edits for the highest-impact drops and assign each an owner.
