# Muse, dots, Gemini agent, Duet: personal agents are coming to work.

On October 21, 2026, Anthropic opened a waitlist for Claude Duet. It is the fourth personal AI agent from a large AI company in six weeks.

Each one works the same basic way. It runs on its own computer in the cloud. It reads the apps you connect. It keeps going after you put your phone down. And it comes back to you when something needs a decision.

Anthropic's own description is the shortest summary of the whole category. Duet "keeps working even when you step away" and "checks with you before it acts on your behalf."

## What shipped

| Date | Company | Agent | Where you reach it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sep 8 | Meta | Muse | Its own app, the web and WhatsApp |
| Sep 29 | OpenAI | dots | ChatGPT, Slack and Microsoft Teams |
| Oct 8 | Google Cloud | Gemini agent | Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Calendar, with coworker agents that get their own address |
| Oct 21 | Anthropic | Claude Duet | Its own iOS and Android apps and claude.ai |

They are not identical. Muse leans toward errands, shopping and travel. Dots lean toward projects and can be messaged in Slack. Google's agent is sold to companies first. Duet is pitched at small businesses and professionals, with examples like chasing unpaid invoices in QuickBooks, drafting follow-ups from HubSpot and preparing Gusto payroll changes.

Muse is already big. Sensor Tower counted 10.9 million downloads of Muse by October 20, with 2.5 million people using it on October 16, according to VentureBeat.

## What they share

The four have five things in common.

1. Their own computer. Each runs on a machine in the cloud, so the work continues when your laptop is shut.
2. Your logins. They act inside the apps you connect. Duet reaches more than 6,000 connectors. Dots reach more than 4,000 apps through plugins.
3. A morning brief. Duet sends a short list of what matters across your apps each morning, then checks in every few hours.
4. Permission before the big things. Duet asks before it sends a message, pays, signs or deletes. Muse asks before sensitive actions and runs outbound actions past a second agent Meta calls Sentinel.
5. One boss. Each agent works for the person who connected it.

That fifth point is the one companies have not thought about yet.

## Who is buying them

Duet is open to individual Pro and Max subscribers, not to Team or Enterprise plans. Dots came first to individual ChatGPT Pro subscribers, and business workspaces need an admin to switch them on. Muse is free to start.

So the first personal agents inside your company will not arrive through a purchasing decision. They will arrive the way the iPhone did. Someone on your team signs up on a Saturday, connects their work email and calendar, and on Monday their agent is reading your company's threads and drafting replies in their name.

A person with a good assistant does better work, so most of this is good news. It does mean the agent's picture of your company is built from whatever it can reach: an inbox, a calendar, a Slack channel, a CRM. Anthropic says plainly that Duet "can still misjudge what's urgent." An agent reading threads has to guess what the company decided. Twenty agents reading twenty inboxes will guess twenty different ways.

## What a company has to have ready

Personal agents raise four questions that a company answers once, not once per agent.

- **What does the agent read?** If the company's priorities, owners and commitments are written down somewhere an agent can read, every person's agent starts from the same plan.
- **What may it change?** Updating your own to-do is one thing. Closing a to-do someone else owns is another.
- **How does anyone know it was the agent?** "Done" means something different when a person's agent did it at 2 a.m.
- **Where is its work reviewed?** The weekly meeting is where a team checks commitments. Agent work has to land there too.

This series takes those questions one at a time, and ends with how we are wiring OTP to accept personal agents on purpose.

## What we are calling them

Every company names these differently. Meta calls Muse an agent. OpenAI calls each one a dot. Anthropic calls Duet a proactive agent. We are going to call the whole category what it is: **personal agents**. Each works for one person, on that person's plan, with that person's logins.

The company's job is to give them the same thing it gives every new person on the team: a plan to read, rules to follow and a record of what they did.

## Give your team's agents the plan

Personal agents read whatever they are connected to. OTP is where your company's chart, priorities, scorecard and commitments live, and any MCP client can connect to it. In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector with this address:

```
https://orgtp.com/api/mcp
```

Then ask: *"Using OTP, what are my priorities this quarter, what did I commit to in our last meeting, and what is due this week?"*

Start free at [orgtp.com](https://orgtp.com/sign-up). Every seat is free, for people and agents. You pay only for the AI you use.
